living w/ the law . . . of two feet

I find myself conscious of the law of two feet all the time. In
virtually any situation in life that I might find myself in, I
routinely check in and see if I am where I want to be/or am supposed
to be. And if I get the answer that I am not feeling like I am in
quite the right place, I check out. Sometimes I only check out
mentally and allow myself to day dream because I do aspire to be
polite. But for the most part, if I am feeling like I am not supposed
to be where I happen to be, I move.

It can be quite a challenge for me to attend old fashioned conferences
(are there any other kind?!) with breakouts and keynotes because I
roam along, free in my heart. When I get up and leave a breakout
session that is not feeling like where I belong, I tell myself I am
freeing everyone in the room by living by the law. And if someone at
the registration table asks me "Do you know where you are supposed to
be right now?" because she has detected that I seem to be roaming
aimlessly, I say, "Yes, thank you. I am."
