This came in today for posting on the website. We don't really have a
place for such things at openspaceworld.org. Seemed like it might be
of interest to some here. Any questions should be directed to the
email address in their message. I'm only the messenger on this one.

Subject: Initiatives of Change Event for posting
To: mherman at globalchicago.net

Around the world during the month of June, people will be joining to
counter violence and injustice. This is not a global protest against
something; it is a united action for something: building community.
The event, called 'Open Homes, Listening Hearts,' was launched in 2002
by Initiatives of Change, an 80-year old network of people working for
reconciliation and justice in over 50 countries. 'Open Homes' gives
individuals around the world the opportunity to reach out to people of
different faith and ethnic backgrounds by sharing a meal and personal
stories in their homes.

We hope that you and Open Space Institute will be interested in
helping Initiatives of Change to promote 'Open Homes' this year. The
goal is to make the event, and the idea that dialogue is an integral
step toward societal change, available to as many people as possible.
You can help by promoting 'Open Homes' on your website and including
the month-long event in your website's event listings, encouraging
members to start an 'Open Homes'event in their local communities, or
planning an 'Open Homes' event yourself.

Please take the time to read the attached handbook for a more in-depth
discussion of the event. More information and resources are available
on our website (www.ohlh.org), by email (info at ohlh.org), or by phone
(202-872-9077).

Thank you,

Eileen Tegethoff
