hi all,

had a conversation this morning with raphael peter, founder of this
global playback (as in playback theatre) for kindness movement that
has set its sights on doing events around the world this november.
apparently nov13th is world kindness day.

a bunch of our north carolina friends know raphael and his partner. i
thought the whole thing was interesting enough to post here. might be
something to add to in your local area or just replicate with OS
conversations of the same. can't hurt to be spreading a little
kindness.

so here's a bit from his site. he's up to about 70 events scheduled
around the world...

About Global Playback for Kindness

Join us in sharing your story on World Kindness Day, November 13,
2005. Playback Theatre companies on five continents, in widely diverse
settings and communities, will be performing personal stories of "Acts
of Kindness".

This global event aligns two movements - Playback Theatre, with its
hundreds of companies worldwide, and groups focused on promoting and
celebrating actions based on kindness. The performances will remind us
of what can happen when people behave kindly towards each other.

Playback Theatre invites personal stories, told in community, and
honors the storytellers through enacting their experiences. These
enactments have promoted compassion and understanding in challenging
arenas around the world. Groups in conflict and people divided by
race, class or caste have found new attitudes of acceptance through
sharing experiences in playback performances.
