Metaphors for the magic?

Dear Doug,
I am uncomfortable about making assumptions about blue collar workers.
I worked as a Human Resources Director in a printing company for many
years. I had the privelege of working with with many peopls labelled as
blue collar . I found a diverse group of people -talented musicians ,
opera goers, poets, photographers- the list goes on. Working with the
front line people was often more enlightening than with my "peers" on
the senior management committee.

Larry--
Thanks! Could you expand a little more on the orange and green
references? I don't have a frame of reference to those concepts. Thanks,
Larry!
Joelle--
I'm trusting our list's poet laureate can come up with a great new
metaphor. <grin> (My wife is campaigning for popcorn as the top
candidate.) Thanks, Joelle!
Phil--
Thanks! I like your "teasing out strands of magic"--the astrophotography
reference might turn off some of these people.
John--
Yup, I think that will work with some folks, and yes, I am working with
a lot of blue-collar type people on this project, so I agree with you
that something physical would be best for them. Thanks, John!
:-Doug.
