oslist core purpose & the exchange of "ideas"

MessageMark et al:
A big YES and I'd also go so far as to say that we are ALL aspects of a large collective organism (deChardin's 'noosphere'?) comprised of our collective intelligence/consciousness.

In healthy living systems, encoded information is shared in a variety of ways - bumping into the output, cooperatively sharing, competing, etc... I think. In the sciences referred to by Mark, I see a mechanism for us to create our reality out of the story(ies) and open space(s) we focus on... OST teaches me that my highest and deepest passions are bound by personal responsibility (response ability). Story teaches me that it's important to be aware of, and choose, the stories I live by and create. This culminates in an ethic, or spiritual intelligence, around conscious intent and a means to explore my limits concerning this.

If we become more conscious aspects of a larger organism, what would we create?
What's the smallest possible collective 'open space' action that could potentially yield the greatest change for the better?

best wishes,
glory ressler

  Hmmmm . . .

Some interesting research in neurosciences and robotics suggests
that a great deal of the information that comprises the cognitive
domain of complex organisms is actually encoded in the environment
and then pattern-sensed, processed and recoded into the environment.

Perhaps "Facilitators" and Conversationalists" are simply aspects
  of a large collective organism.

That is a good thought Chris,

I would go even further: How can living systems truly share their encoded information in any environment?. Is it possible?

What do you think about the role of facilitators and conversionalist?

    Carlos.

    one more thought:

not having a digital video camera linked to the web focused on the circle of my os events is, as i stated, about purpose...but i am thinking that it is also about the givens of how a living system cares for itself. to my friends on the list who know more than i about theories of living systems: do healthy living systems share their encoded information indiscriminately in the environment?
