HI Tim,

Funny to meet you here :-) My first question before you say yes or know is
to find out what their reason is for wanting this process to be built this
way? Is there a reason that you perhaps can understand or that maybe is
something that feels correct under the circumstances or is it a reason that
is more related to their own fears (the size of the group? So little –
planning? Etc.) I’ve found that by addressing these sorts of issues of the
underlying causes to the questions really helps me in my advice to the
organizers. It also helps me in explaining what I think would be the course
of action that is most appropriate and in supporting the organizers in their
very difficult job of learning to let go of control.

Hope this helps and hope you are well

Doris Gottlieb

Hi there,

I have been invited into the hosting of an open space for 500 folk in the
UK. This is the third time with the same org, so its is catching and
expanding, and this time it is an annual gathering of one of their networked
learning communities. 2 days long.

They have suggested, and my gut rebels, to do some of the workshop posting
before arrival. To have the invite sent out and people offer workshops on
the internet so the agenda can build in advance ...

Has anyone done anything like this before?
Has it worked?
If so .. how?
or why not?

Other than that, 500 is the largest so far for me, are there any things i
should be focusing on with a group this large?

Okay,
Thanks for any help,
Tim

(remember the rapper?)
