Hi

Do you know meetup.com? It's a new(ish) website for arranging meetings
around almost any topic, and it's become very popular of late. It works
like this:
* Anyone can sugest a topic to meet about
* Anyone can suggest a place to meet and when

Sound familiar? This is essentially a huge distributed Open Space
Technology meeting, spanning everythin from Chihuahua owners in Dallas
to webdesigners in Copenhagen. You plan the meetings online, but you
meet physically in a venue suggested by the users. There's a story on
meetups impact on american politics here:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/06/04/politics/main557004.shtml

I went ahead and created an OST topic, so now OS enthusiast everywhere
can create meetings on OST to trade experiences or whatever. You can
find the ost topic and plan meetings at: http://ost.meetup.com/

Cheers

Alexander
