timing of OSonOS 2004 & recommendation for future planning of OSonOS's

Dear friends of the list,

I understand from the OSonOS 2003 online conference cafe that OSonOS 2004 is timed for 26 - 29 September.

I am very disappointed that the timing of OSonOS 2004 has been recommended for the dates of 26 - 29 September 2004, placing these at exactly the same time as the OS on Genuine Contact trainers program in Raleigh which is held on 26 - 27 September every year.

I am disappointed personally as there was an opportunity (with dates running alongside) to travel from New Zealand to Raleigh and deepen my understanding and learning of OST at OSonGC 2004 and then with other colleagues, travel on to Goa to further deepen and expand my learning at OSonOS 2004. With the current clash of dates it becomes an either/or situation.

I also do not understand this decision as from my understanding and beliefs, the decision enters the realm of the spirit of competitiveness...holding one global OST event at the same time as another global OST event, that involves some of the same people, creating the situation where people must choose which event they attend.
I believe that a decision made in the spirit of co-operation and unity will place these important events alongside of one another or at different times.

My recommendation for planning future global OSonOS events is....
to schedule these global OST conferences on dates that do not clash with other already scheduled global OST events.

Warm regards
Helen
