Chris,

You asked for examples of "Open Space projects where something positive
happened". Here's one for you.

At the first Creating the World We Want gathering , an Open Space meeting
held in London on 12 December 2001, a man called Neil Crofts, former head of
strategy at internet consultancy Razorfish, ran a session with the title
"Authentic Business", to explore the possibility of creating a new
organisation that would foster the development of businesses that pursue a
positive purpose where profit is an outcome rather than the overriding aim.

Within a couple of months he had launched the Authentic Business newsletter,
with a permission-based email list of 4000 subscribers. He also created a
website, www.authenticbusiness.co.uk.

His book, "Authentic: How to Make a Living by Being Yourself" was published
by Capstone last month and is available from Amazon.co.uk:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1841125199/qid=1069751137/sr=2-1/re
f=sr_2_3_1/202-5723799-3214267.

Authentic Business now has a range of offerings including coaching, and has
spawned a sister company, Authentic PR. Neil is currently working on the
foundation of Authentic Capital, which will provide investment funding for
authentic businesses.

Please forward this to the cynic!

Warmly,

Martin
