more missing mail

hi all,

when i didn't get any list mail (again) for some days now, and others
said the list was down, then i started reading on the archives website.
when i saw new messages there, i figured many of us might be reading
there and i carried on, sent my recent wiki message, etc.... thinking we
were all doing the archive-reading thing.

now i've had a number of personal responses to my last posting (thank
you!) and am discovering that many people actually ARE receiving these
messages by email, as usual. (i learn this, of course, AFTER i've put a
call into the boisestate folks to ask why the list is off again... go
figure.) so maybe this is a fifth principle, or first-principle
corollary? whoever actually gets the message is the right people?

so...

if you DO NOT get this message by the usual email channel, please DO let
me know.

if you DO get this message by usual email channel but DO NOT read it,
please DO NOT let me know.

if, however, you read this message BEFORE you read it, please call my
direct number immediately -- i want to talk to you about the stock market.

AND... if you DO send a message to the list, consider that it may only
be received by some fraction of the list, as something is still not
quite right with the distribution. will let you know when i get the
"all clear" from boisestate folks. in the meantime, the archives is
still working.
