I think so too Joelle, and I appreciate Judi bringing forward the always
present possibility of BOTH/AND.  We can listen and integrate and
transcend.  Sometimes the best way to resolve dissonance is to add more
voices.

So "listening" leads me to music, which makes sense given that we played
some music together at Practice of Peace.  In music, a "second" is an
interval of two semi tones between two notes.  Played together, a C and
a D for example sound quite dissonant.  Add a Bb and an E and a G though
and you get a lovely chord, a C9, in which the dissonance is supported
by other notes to lead the chord to another place.

Still riffing on this, it occurs to me that if you add an F# and an A to
the C and D you get a D7.  In that case the dissonance wants the chord
to resolve (that's the musical term) to a G major chord.

Dissonance, support, resolution.  Hmmm...
