Dear Juan,
no Spanish, but here is some German for you:
Herzlich Willkommen und viel Glück!
If you go to
www.michaelmpannwitz.de/openspace_map.htm
you will see a world map with all the countries in which
os-technology meetings have been conducted in blue.
With Chile added, there are now 72 countries...lots of
Spanish-speaking places among them.
Just sent my webmaster a note so soon Chile will be added.
Rest assured, open space works beautifully in public organizations,
actually some say open space always works which certainly has been my
experience.
I have had the privilege to facilitate os-events for public
organizations, for the Berliner Stadtreinigung (city
sanitation)(Theme: Developing future leadership) and the GASAG (gas
company)(Theme: Quality management). This has been in the context of
some degree of privatization and the move from a monopolist to a
competitor in the regular market, all of which are major
transformation for public agencies and a perfect field for open
space-technology.
While you are facilitating an os for the water sanitation people I
will be facilitating an os May 22-24 for one of the political
foundations with headquarters in Berlin (Heinrich Böll, they also
have projects in Chile)
Greetings from Berlin
michael

Paul,

Thank you for a really helpful posting. For some years now I've been using
the shorthand Worldview 1, 2 and 3 (www.martinleith.com/worldviews - needs
updating!):

Worldview 1: The world is a machine
Worldview 2: The world is an ecosystem
Worldview 3: The world is energy and conciousness (W3 is beyond language so
it is hard to label)
Beyond worldviews (The world is everything and nothing)

There is a lot of resonance between this scheme and those of Sprial Dynamics
and Wilber.

What's interesting about these worldviews is that the higher numbered ones
include the lower numbered ones, that is to say that Worldview 2 includes
the Newtonian thinking and command-and-control organisation of Worldview 1.
Similarly, Worldview 3, where Open Space fits, includes the large group
interventions (Future Search, Real Time Strategic Change) of Worldview 2,
and the conventional conferences of Worldview 1.

Worldview 1 is the world of 'either/or' thinking. Worldview 2 is the world
of 'both/and' thinking. 'Both/and' therefore includes 'either/or'.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks again Paul. Are you the same Paul Roberts who used to work for Roffey
Park Institute?

Martin
