Jeff,
thank you for your "bit of research on shalom". I passed it on to my
personal egroup (I hope this is okay?) There it connects to a thread
of discussion about the awful & detoriating situation in Zimbabwe,
which could easily lead to another war in southern africa.
Large scale destruction of human & other life in Africa is not so
clearly perceived by the world wide media-system, as it is in areas
nearer to the global power centers and global supply center
but of course producing fear for and compassion by us folks living
around here (in my case in the neighbour country Mozambique, where
mass-killing stopped only 92).
I observe that my reading, theory-building, discussing about peace,
reading about shalom ... is a/my way of reducing my fear, of
conjuring, what we are talking about:
