Bringing Open Space closer to those Inner Spaces.

Hello again to you all,
the Seattle branch of an international spiritual
learning community (the Summit Lighthouse) is looking
to put on a one day and evening 'Town Hall' event in
the next month or two.

The creation of this event in Seattle will be for
this organization not only an experiment in a new way
of communicating and self organizing, but also of
Being. Open Space will be introduced as an initial
framework upon which further Inner Work will somehow
need to be connected.

I am looking to collaborate with another Open
Space practitioner in coming up with the unqiue fit
for this organization.

Just to provide some initial background here.
This is a group that is culturally quite conservative
when it comes to how they communicate...having certain
standards and disciplines of personal and
interpersonal conduct, deferences to 'what is sacred',
'the truth', etc.
The paradox here is of a group of people that
seem quite liberal and open in their mix of the worlds
religions and philosphies, that truly seem to
understand the deeper implications and importance of
"Self"-organization, of individual inner direction and
power, of the freedom to Be (a group of mystics at
heart), and yet who still carry about in some distinct

'religious' ways, distancing themselves from more
normal, 'worldy ways' of associating.

As I see it, along with introducing the Open
Space experience, will be the task of developing a few
deeper communications or 'storytelling' skills...ways
in which this culture might more fully see and own
itself, face it's unspoken fears and concerns [of the
soul] and deal with the uncertainties and confusions
that come as a result of some very subjective and
personal languaging, ie. specifically developing a way
for this group to better know, discern (and accept)
it's collective 'truth' or higher wisdom.
There is an important need here to develop an
effective way to process an individuals 'personal
truth' (or soul vision), some process that might allow

the locked-up potential of 'speaking from the spirit'
that this culture paradoxically keeps from itself.

    Thank you for considering this,
                              Michael Dobbie.

                                      Seattle, WA.
