New virus attack - a possible hoax

G'day All 

Here's a cheery, reassuring message about one of the recent virus warnings, I think about a virus 
which is seemingly transmittable without an attachment. Whether this is badtrans I don't know. 

And this advice you may find helpful:

"It has been suggested to me that in order to keep a virus from attaching itself to your address book, do the following.

Create a ficticious address, one that starts with a 0 (zero) or anything that will be at the top of your address book.

For example 0001 at virus.com

This way if a virus tries to attach itself to your address book, it will come up that it could not send it because of bad address. 
You will then know that you have a virus."

My son who knows his PCs tells me this is a VIRUS HOAX. The sulfnbk.exe is a Windows system utility file for restoring long file names (a maintenance procedure). If you have deleted it, insert your  windows 98/95 install CD and click on start button > find > files and in dialogue box search for the file name sulfnbk.exe and copy it into your Windows\Command File folder . This should restore the file to its  proper place. If you cant restore it dont freak as it probably wont  upset your system. Or ask someone who really knows this stuff! For further info enter the search terms " sulfnbk.exe " and " virus hoax"
in any search engine.

M son suggests anyone worried about viruses keeps up to date by  regularly checking a virus/security web-site. Then we dont need to panic when this kind of thing comes through.
