Reading your posts the last few weeks and watching the news, I am struck by
what seems to be going on: leaders looking for ways to keep the fight
going, while the people want peace.

Sure there are suicide bombers, but they are a small number, and probably
prodded by the leaders.

In the past week I have gotten an e-mail promoting the millionth circle, or
something to that effect. The idea is that if a million circles of equal
numbers of Israeli and Palestinian women could come together, there would
be peace.

Your own Open Space work a few weeks ago seem to bear that out. Or at least
that the people want peace.

Is it reasonable to think that if enough regular people got together in
some sort of self-organizing fashion, even the hate of centuries could be
overcome by love in the latest hour? Could the U.S. be wasting its breath
on Arafat and Sharon when if they sponsored "peace talks" by ordinary
citizens, something worthwhile might be born?
