Nuran's Learning Journey in Open Space...

Hello, dear and loving friends --

I am warmed by your ability to struggle towards the words that frame our
emotions at a time when the unthinkable and the undefinable are
affecting us so deeply. Our hearts can grow to any size, and my heart
enfolds you all.

And now it is time to take care of our dear traveler, Nuran.

You know her -- the woman of magical cooking, inspirational thinking and
teacher of unspeakable (in public) Turkish words...

She has been staying with Molly and I here in Berkeley, California, and
it has truly been delightful. Even with the hugeness in the world right
now. And she is *really* getting a look at America, from the inside and
from the outside. And we are really learning from her as we trade
insights and interpretations across cultures, languages and life
experiences. Truly a nutritious experience, bittersweet as it is.

So now it is time for her to travel further, and her travels bring her
to America's East Coast. She will be flying into New York's JFK
airport, arriving about 8:00 in the morning on Tuesday 9/18. I don't
know how long it will take her to come through that airport -- depending
on security measures.

Then I think she will try to come into New York, and our marvelous
brother John Engle (hi, my dear!) will be picking her up later in the
afternoon to take her back with him to Philadelphia.

So there will be some hours in-between. And there is a memorial for
victims of the attack which will be held in New York's Central Park on
Tuesday. And I don't want Nuran to have to travel all night and then
make her way alone through a new city and one filled with such emotion
for her, without having a friendly, loving person at her side.

So do any of you know someone who can meet Nuran either at JFK or at
some specific place (you can tell her the directions from the airport)
to spend a few hours with her, to share friendship and to love her up?
(PS: She's really fun to love up) for a few hours until she and John can
connect? She would also like to attend the memorial if that works out.
I know anyone living in New York is really in shock still. But maybe
some great medicine would be Nuran's love and joy for living.

Please let her know if you have any ideas:

- until 6:00 pm Pacific Standard Time she can be reached at my home at

Her email is

Thank you so much for your love, your faith, your skills and your
clarity,

Lisa
