Episcopal churches?

Happy New Year Harrison. I find that I need to remind myself that I work with
people. "Whoever comes.......etc." If I start to put people into categories
the thinking is no longer open. I must remind myself to work with people where
they are and my task is create the environment that will provide an Open Space
opportunity for them. To meet these demands I need to be familiar with the
culture, values and jargon of the group so that I work in their world. Just
because a group has the name church we cannot assume that they have any
different experience of the spirit at work than any other group.

I am constantly reminded by my peers that assumptions make an "ASS OUT OF YOU
AND ME". My learning is I need to work very hard when I approach any group to
be relaxed, be truly present , to truly listen and to test and retest the
information so that actions are based on the facts as the group see them not my
assumptions.

I have also found that when working with church groups that they are all
different even the Episcopalian!

Robert

PS Keep it simple, make it fun and keep the space open.
