Opening to Exciting Possibilities
Open Space Technology is a powerful approach for engaging people. Open Space can help organizations transform and become interactive and inspired. With Open Space, you can practice the values and processes that lead to vital and productive organizations in our interconnected world.

Innovation is often hampered by control and by structures that inhibit rapid and unique responses on the ground. OS triggers individual enthusiasm and responsibility. It draws upon people’s inherent creativity to develop real practical approaches that maximize communication and synergy. It leads to strategic thinking and concrete action plans from all levels. The net result is an organization that is agile, responsive and far more effective.

Part I – Training on the Open Space Approach
· Experienced Open Space facilitators Diane Gibeault and Jacqueline Pelletier will lead the French “Introduction to Open Space” *. Then Diane Gibeault and Larry Peterson will lead the English version*. They have a combined experience of over 20 such training events. * Harrison Owen will participate thanks to technological links.

· You will experience an Open Space, learn about the core principles, when to use it, preparing sponsors, the role of the facilitator, practical issues, priority setting, action planning and you will have practice in opening space.

· Trainers will provide various facilitation materials including power point slide sets for communicating this approach to interested parties and bilingual forms that will assist you in planning for an effective OS process.

A participant’s comment from the last Introductory workshop: "With the practice, the examples and all the support materials you gave us, I feel my learning curve for the Open Space approach has been shortened by several years."

Part II: Organizational Transformation: discussions in an Open Space format
This two-day learning journey led by Harrison Owen will be based on his recent book The Power of Spirit: How Organizations Transform. We will reflect on the transformative effect of Open Space in organizations and explore the challenges and opportunities for organizational transformation.

Part III: Leadership: discussions in an Open Space format
Our organizations are fast paced and connected. This interactivity requires us to transcend traditional command and control leadership approaches. All of us are learning to surf waves of transformative change. To be effective we have to learn to lead in different ways. We will explore the challenges and opportunities for enhancing the qualities of leadership that are required, within others and within ourselves. We will also reflect on the changes in ongoing leadership after an Open Space event. The Spirit of Leadership, Owen’s recent book will be a reference point for this learning event led by Harrison Owen.
