A Different Kind of Convergence

Chris:

You are absolutely right. However here is the context and the "deal":

Everyone will be present for the open space including the senior folks (even
the CFO). However I was inserted late in the process and there wasn't room in
the hotel for everyone to stay for the third day.

And part of what they asked me to do was some conflict resolution with the
senior folks. So what I'm trying to do is kind of like riding two horses at
the same time.

However, having said all that, one of the things that I thought of doing at
the end of the second day was to get the middle managers to give some
specific advice to the senior folks, sort of like, "What I most want you to
know and keep in mind as you work out implementation plans is..."

Also, they will have had, at my request, for the first time in their history,
shared the actual strategy of the organization. So, they have actually moved
a long way already. I am likely going to have the chance to do this again and
do another open space with the same folks on working out the implementation
details and I will insist that everyone be there for the whole time then.

Best regards
Esther
