Jimbo:

Congrats! I myself will be holding some pretty serious space for my
second little one in the next couple of weeks.

I take it that this is your first. I have five pieces of advice for
you. Follow them like a slave and everything will work out fine. In no
particular order they are:

1. Whoever is born is the right person
2. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened
3. When it starts is the right time
4. When it's over, it's usually ALL over the place.
5. Be prepared to be surprised.

Those have served me well so far...I'm think of devising some new
fangled meeting process based on these ideas, but so far I haven't been
able to come up with anything concrete.

I'll be thinking of you with a big smile on my face.

Chris

OSonOS ONLINE - Let's do it!Metta, Michael, Chris,
a great idea to use an on-line discussion, whether metanet or the
osorgworld site of Michael Herman. Whichever is easier for people around the
world to access. And Michael, thank you for so generously offering your site
and your work to get this set up. And Chris, a great idea for local OSONOS
as well as the annual international event. I know that in Australia, under
the careful mentorship of Brian Bainbridge, they have had an annual OSONOS
for a few years now. I hope the idea catches on.

And to many others, thank you for your e-mails. This seems to be an
important topic.

Journey well,
Birgitt

Subject: OSonOS ONLINE - Let's do it!

  Metta,

Well said; I am right with you.

Regarding whoever comes are the right people - I was able to stumble into
OSonOS VI in Monterrey on a shoestring budget, and it was a
life-course-altering experience, thanks largely to the lively international
diversity of the group (if you were in Monterrey in particular, you know
what I mean!) I am happy that some folks with slim wallets in Germany or
Denmark will have access to the same experience this week.

And of course, there is nothing limiting OSonOS to a single event per
year. The joy of opening the space with other practitioners is so great
that spontaneous regional OSonOSes could surely spring up...(Hmmm...)

Regarding OSonOS Online: No start-up technical help here, but another
call to "YES, LET'S DO IT!" I agree with Metta that a web-based threaded
discussion would be the way to go. If not worldwide open space or ezboard,
maybe the Meta Network? If someone in Berlin could post each agenda wall
topic as a separate thread, then we out here could put in our two cents'
worth on the topics and bumblebee like wild, before, during, and after the
actual physical discussion groups. Back in Berlin, when the groups have
met, someone could post each report under its thread on-line. I wouldn't
want the cyberspace parallel version to interfere with the regular-space in
Berlin, but if someone there feels they could take on the thread- and
report-posting, I don't think it would...on-site participants could visit
the on-line version, or not; and afterward we would have two books of
proceedings: the normal one for the bodily participants, and the
automatically-archived online one with postings from all of us out here, and
ongoing after the event. Could be big fun!!

Any problems with this idea? Any champions out there who see how to get
it rolling?

Also, from me too, thanks Birgitt for your posting.

  Chris Weaver

    Dear Birgitt,

Thank you for your thoughtful spirit of inclusiveness!

I firmly believe that, in all things, whoever comes *are*
    the right people, even though:
     - I won't be participating in this year's OSonOS, and
     - financial constraints often limit the number of
national and international OS events I'm able
        to attend each year.

However, I think it would be wonderful if, as you suggested,
Birgitt, there's an "effort made...to link on-line during
    the event."

Might it not be possible (Michael?) to create a forum in
the Worldwide Open Space site for shared postings?

I, for one, would love to see parallel or synchronized
conversations develop online during the OSonOS event,
and if we can't use the Worldwide OS site for this
online coordination, I think I could relatively easily
and quickly set up a forum for us on ezboard's free site:
            http://www.ezboard. <http://www.ezboard.com/> com

<http://www.ezboard.com/> For what it's worth, it seems to me that a
web-based forum
(bulletin board) would be much more functional, flexible
and more easily navigable than attempting to run and track
the conversations through the listserv. Just MHO.

Will be interested in others' thoughts and reactions!

    As ever,
    Metta Zetty

Tonight, October 18th, at 10:28, a new soul touched down on the Earth.

Weighing in at 3 kg. (that is 6.61 lbs for the Americans reading this) a
beautiful, healthy baby boy began the journey of his life in Taipei, Taiwan
tonight.

Thanks to continuous exercise, yoga, meditation, and positive thinking...the
delivery was very quick (about one hour in the delivery room) and the mother
is
doing just fine (a little sleepy though). (Daddy didn't do the yoga or the
exercise, but he's sleepy too...).

When choosing a name for a new life, one wants to do a "good job," after
all,
unless the child chooses otherwise, this will be their name for their whole
life.

We had wanted to choose a name with a great meaning, or find a great person
to
name our son after, and in the end, we chose two great men. My father, John
Peter Clark, and my brother, John Peter Clark Jr. It seems like in this day
and
age, it might not be fashionable to name your child "John" or "Peter" as
these
names are so "60's." And certainly, creating a "3rd" seems like something
the
Kenedys might do, but I had never thought I would. But these are the two
men I
respect the most in my life, and I can't think of two kinder, gentler,
wiser, or
more loving souls on the planet. They are both men of deep integrity and my
son
would do well to follow in their (diverse) footsteps.

For those of you in Taipei that might wish to stop by and say hello to mom
and
little Johnny, the hospital we are staying at is located on Chang Chun Rd.
#193
(next to the Capital Hotel). We are in room 301.

For those of you outside of Taipei, your thoughts, prayers, energy, love and
support are appreciated now, as always.

With love and grattitude to all,

Jim(bo), Anita and John
