The whole system in one room

Appreciate all the feedback on this one.

I am leaning towards keeping the system in one room (with some
"alternative" break out spaces outside the room) when the numbers are
smaller (20-40) which most of the OS I will be doing in the next few months
will be. As we get into bigger groups, I can see the need to have both
formal and alternative breakout spaces available.

Regards,

bo

Hi Jimbo,
I try always to keep the plenary room free of planned breakouts. It is my
"fallback" position so that I have space easily available if by chance we
end up with many more sessions and need for space, than what I had
anticipated. And this has happened several times. As well, from time to
time, a subject is so "hot" that it attracts a lot of the participants.
Which means there are more than can fit into a breakout room. The group
easily comes back and uses the plenary room which is available if space is
a
problem. It is amazing how much this space is used when it is not
structured
or planned for.

And, people with hearing aids get most upset when the sessions are all held
in the plenary room. Hard for them to hear.
Kindest regards,
Birgitt

I'm curious about other people's experience with opening space in a single
      space.

1. Do other people find this to be a preference?

2. What are the logistical details of doing OS in one big OS.

3. Are there problems with noise/people not being heard?

Jimbo
