One thing that I have found successful in evening news is to not only ask
how is it going, but also what's missing. This allows some folks to state
things that are concerning them. At the end of evening news, I will then
encourage them to think about restating what is missing as a topic to put up
in the morning. This had lead to some good and occasionally breakthrough
topics.

I also always ask people to pay attention to their dreams.
