Are you absolutely sure that that is what is going on for the sponsor
of the Big Gig?

I wonder if you would be able to say to the sponsor exactly what you
are saying here on the list *and* acknowledge to the person(s) what are facts and what
is strictly your interpretation and personal judgement? And what would
happen if you followed your interpretation and personal judgement with
a question to the sponsor inviting him/her to express where they are
at?

Scary perhaps *and* it opens space for something to happen. Be
prepared to be surprised?
